- Our Services

The Art & Science of Independence.

We provide targeted, play-based occupational therapy to help children and adolescents build the skills they need to successfully engage in daily life.

Explore our core areas of focus below to see how we can help your family move from:

"I can't" to
"I did it."

- Core Areas of Focus

Sensory Integration

The Challenge: Does your child seem easily overwhelmed by loud noises, certain clothing textures, or crowded rooms? Or perhaps they are constantly "on the go" and seeking intense movement?

Our Approach:We help children make sense of the world around them by improving how their brains process sensory information and by helping them learn strategies to adapt. Our therapy builds emotional regulation and body awareness, helping your child feel calm, focused, and ready to engage in daily life.

The Outcome: A more "regulated" child who can handle transitions and environments without distress.

- Core Areas of Focus

Executive Functioning

The Challenge: Is "getting out the door" a daily struggle? Does your child or teen lose their homework, struggle to follow multi-step directions, or have a hard time starting tasks?

Our Approach: Executive functioning is the "control center" of the brain. We provide practical strategies to help with planning, organization, and time management. By building these "mental toolkit" skills, we help clients gain independence in their routines and succeed in school or work.

The Outcome: Improved focus and the ability to complete daily tasks with less frustration and fewer reminders.

- Core Areas of Focus

Visual Perception Problem Solving

The Challenge: Does your child struggle to find a specific toy in a messy bin, get lost on a page while reading, or have difficulty copying shapes and letters?

Our Approach: It’s not just about how well you see, but how your brain interprets what you see. We work on the visual processing skills needed to recognize patterns, understand spatial relationships, and navigate physical spaces. This support is vital for reading, writing, drawing, putting things together, and higher-level thinking.

The Outcome: Greater confidence in academic tasks and improved safety and efficiency when moving through the world.

- Core Areas of Focus

Gross & Fine Motor Skills

The Challenge: Does your child have a hard time navigating space, controlling and coordinating both sides of their body, tend to fall or trip, sitting still, playing sports. Or they may have a hard time using their hands to cut their food, tie their shoes, button their shirts, or open containers.

Our Approach: We provided play-based, motivating, and physically challenging activities, as well as curriculum-based motor programs, to strengthen muscles, develop coordination, and dexterity for daily tasks.

The Outcome: Children work their muscles and body-brain connection, becoming stronger and more coordinated, so they can play on the playground, at recess, and in sports with more confidence.

Delivery of Services:

At MotorWorks Therapy, support looks different for every individual. We offer a range of services designed to best meet your family’s needs.

  • Comprehensive Evaluation: A thorough occupational therapy evaluation using standardized and non-standardized assessments to identify areas of strength and need. Includes a full written report and a parent meeting.

  • Consultation Session: A one-hour session with parents and child to examine areas of need and provide hands-on guidance and training for the family. No written report provided.

  • Individual Treatment Sessions: Following a comprehensive evaluation, weekly one-on-one therapy sessions are available and tailored to the goals outlined in your treatment plan.

  • Ongoing Consultation: Post-evaluation consultation services for families — with or without the child present — to support carryover of skills at home and in the community.

  • Small Group Therapy: Carefully organized 10–12 week small groups (maximum four participants) based on shared goals and needs. An engaging, social way to build skills alongside peers.

  • Enrichment Groups: Skills that would benefit most kids to strengthen skills, such as handwriting or task skills groups.

  • School-Based Services: Evaluations, direct intervention, and staff in-services are available within the school environment.

  • Home Visits Assessment and consultation services provided in the home — because sometimes the most meaningful work happens in the spaces where daily life unfolds.

  • Sensory Space Design: Provide guidance to create a sensory space at home or in the community.

  • Community Support: On-site support within the environments that matter most — playgrounds, after-school activities, and work settings.

  • Workshops & In-Services: Custom in-house workshops and professional in-services available upon request, tailored to the needs of your organization or community.
